“It is not progressive for children to receive a below par education, nor is it progressive for public money to be wasted through bad procurement.Securing a better deal for schools and for the tax payer is as important today as it has ever been and I pay tribute to the IAA for their work in this area” Stephen Twigg, MP.

What is the IAAS Quality Mark?

Supported by the Independent Academies Association (IAA) and the Association of School and College Leaders (ASCL), the IAAS Quality Mark has been created in recognition of educations requirement to buy from a safe source. As local authorities offer less support and services to schools and academies break away from local authority control, SMT’s and Business Managers have raised concerns relating to suppliers and their ability to supply suitable services to education.

Education buyers want a source of pre-qualified suppliers who have a proven track record of success in delivering their product or service. They want to know the product is well priced and in line with market value, that the supplier undertakes business in an ethical manner and takes into account the need to safeguard children. They want to know that if issues should arise there is a formal process, which leads to a resolution. This is what the IAAS Quality Mark aims to deliver.

This unique IAA initiative creates a quality assurance mark for suppliers who want to show the educational community their commitment to the market and their promise to deliver a high quality service to education institutes.

In order to gain the Quality Mark suppliers will have been assessed against a number of criteria, demonstrating that they have the experience, products, business standing, and ethical practices, suitable for a supplier to education and that they offer these products at the best market rate. Additionally they will have signed up to the IAAS quality assurance procedures, which allow us to intervene if any disputes arise.
